Back and Spine Pain
What is “Back and Spine Pain”? This refers to pain in the lower area of the back which often is caused by the bones and muscles of the back. When there is arthritis and degeneration of the bone and joints this can lead to low back pain. The muscles around these joints will often go into spasm and become rigid in order to help protect the bone and joints.
Whenever possible, conservative treatment options are always considered before surgery. At Texas Spine and Neurosurgery, we coordinate with high quality local providers and we help to oversee and coordinate care, including but not limited to pain management, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory therapy, bracing, massage therapy, chiropractic therapy, acupuncture, and pool therapy. Above all, our philosophy allows and encourages patients to try the least invasive treatment before progressing to more invasive therapies.
Dr. Zielinski will carefully examine each and every case if they meet the criteria for surgery, whether or not they would benefit from surgery versus continuing with conservative treatments, and most importantly, if the patient wants to have surgery. Surgery is not for everyone, but Dr. Zielinski will do his best that if you do end up having surgery, you will end up better than you were before surgery
